Priorities
SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOLS
Our schools and youth are the heart of Milton and its future. Every family that chooses this town does so in part because of the education their children will receive here. That is a promise worth protecting.
I come from a long line of educators. My grandmother was a teacher and librarian. My aunt was a teacher and librarian. They understood and taught me that every success in life starts with a strong foundation of excellent education. That belief is in my bones.
Elementary overcrowding is a real and pressing challenge. It requires honest acknowledgment, adequate funding, and solutions built around what is best for children, not what is politically convenient. Every child in every neighborhood deserves the same investment. No family should feel like an afterthought. No school should feel forgotten.
On the Select Board, I will fight to make sure our schools are fully funded, that every building is resourced to serve the students inside it, and that every family, regardless of the precinct they live in, feels confident their child is getting what they need.
IMPROVING FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP
Milton faces real financial headwinds. Rising costs, limited revenue options, and hard choices ahead. The decisions we make in the next two years will shape this town for a decade.
I manage complex budgets under pressure every day as I manage a multi-million dollar budget of a similar size to Milton's. I have an MBA from Yale, a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and I run the financial operations of a major department at a world-class pediatric hospital. I know how to read a balance sheet, identify inefficiencies, and make disciplined decisions when resources are tight.
Milton deserves honesty about its finances. Not wishful thinking. Not decisions driven by politics.
On the Select Board, I will push for regular, public reporting on how Milton is spending its money, so residents always know where we stand and can hold their elected officials accountable. I will move us from optimistic projections to forecasting built on real numbers. And I will lead the development of a five-year financial plan that is public, transparent, and updated every year.
I will also work to grow Milton's revenue base. That means actively pursuing grants, exploring commercial development opportunities that fit our community, and finding efficiencies that free up dollars for the services residents depend on. Fiscal discipline and smart growth are not in conflict. They are the same job.
INCREASING COLLABORATION
Milton works best when we work together. In the past year on the Select Board and in town government, I have seen real progress across our boards, committees, and departments. That momentum is real, and I want to build on it to become a town that can both envision progress and keep the elements and history that we all cherish.
Every day, I bring together people with different priorities and different pressures to make decisions that affect real lives. I know how to find common ground without losing sight of what matters. I know how to keep people at the table when things get hard. That same approach applies to every corner of this town.
SUPPORTING SENIOR CITIZENS
Our seniors built Milton. Many are now on fixed incomes, navigating rising costs and trying to stay in the homes and neighborhoods they have loved for decades. Aging in place is not just a preference. For many, it is essential. I will work to protect and expand the services, transportation, and support systems that make that possible.
CREATING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR YOUTH & COMMUNITY SPACES
Our young people deserve a town that invests in them. That means real opportunities, safe spaces, programs that meet them where they are, and a community that signals clearly that they belong here and that their future matters. Our youth, their mental health, and access to opportunities that keep them engaged are at the forefront of my priorities. We can create more internships and jobs that will nurture their purpose and keep them engaged!
And every resident, regardless of age, background, or precinct, deserves access to the community spaces that make Milton feel like home. I will work to make sure those spaces are funded, maintained, and open to everyone.
On the Select Board, I will work across all parts of town government to make sure Milton moves forward together. Not competing. Collaborating. One town.
PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT & ACCESS TO HEALTHY RESOURCES
As a medical professional and neighbor to the beautiful Blue Hills, I know how important it is to protect the natural environment and wildlife we share space with. Keeping our waterways and environment clean, such as managing PFAS in our water and reducing pollution, is a priority for me as a candidate. Ensuring we have proper and timely waste cleanup and recycling is essential. As a Select Board member, I will make sure we continue to foster our tree canopy and have resources for snow removal and maintenance of our public spaces to support vibrant, healthy living.
